NEWS RELEASE
COLLINGWOOD DOWNTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA
*************************
During the fall season, as the cooler weather sets in and the autumn colours are at their best, Downtown Collingwood celebrates ‘Harvest of the Arts’, culminating during the Thanksgiving weekend.
From our last Farmers’ Market of the season and children’s activities, to strolling and shopping our historical downtown, there is something for everyone to experience including the much anticipated annual Art Chair Auction.
Join us Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the lot adjacent to the Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market for your chance to purchase one of the much coveted Art Chairs.
Silent auction bidding will begin at 10 a.m. and will close at 1 p.m. sharp...the chairs hold a minimum bid price of $75 and all chairs must be taken home and paid for (cash or cheque) at this time.
This year’s theme is “Artist’s Choice” as we invited artists to bring their own unique style and vision to the project. Once again these chairs have been the talk of the town all summer.
Chairs were created by aspiring young artists from Collingwood Collegiate to world renowned professionals living locally. To view each of the 45 Art Chairs and learn more about the artists, look for the Art on the Street 2019 brochures throughout the community or take a virtual tour at www.artonthestreet.ca.
If you are looking for that one of a kind, affordable piece of art that will add uniqueness to your yard or porch…then this auction is a must! Don’t miss out on the fun and your chance to take one (or more!) of these chairs home with you!
