Canadian Blood Services is asking Collingwood residents to give the gift of life.
A blood donation event will take place May 18 at the Collingwood Legion, 490 Ontario St., from 1 to 7 p.m.
Those wanting to donate blood must make an appointment at blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2DONATE.
If there are no appointments for the May 18 event, people are encouraged to keep checking back.
Same-day appointments are often available, as Canadian Blood Services has seen many last-minute cancellations on the day of the clinic.
