UPDATE: Blue Mountain house a 'total loss,' says fire chief

The home is located at the base of Blue Mountain off Jozo Weider Boulevard

Update 1:45 p.m.: The Blue Mountains Fire Department has successfully put out the fire that has destroyed a Blue Mountain area home.

The fire started late this morning. The resident of the home noticed a small fire near the eaves and called the fire department.

Fire Chief Steve Conn said the house was fully-engulfed when fire crews arrived and the house is now a 'total loss.'

The resident got out of the home safely and without injury.

Fire crews remain on scene to look for hot spots and wait for investigators to arrive. The fire is not deemed suspicious at this time, but will be investigated due to the dollar loss estimated.

The home is located on Ann Heggtveit Drive and Jozo Weider Boulevard at the base of the north end of Blue Mountain. The house was for sale and recently listed as sold.
