The Collingwood Museum is pleased to announce that the second annual Shipyard Social will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, after a successful inaugural year in 2017.

Last year’s event saw more than 40 former shipyard workers and more than 200 guests in total, join museum staff and community members for a fun afternoon dedicated to celebrating our community’s heritage.

This year be sure to join the excitement and reminisce about the days of the Collingwood Shipyards. You will practically hear the splash of the ships sliding into the harbour!

11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Doors open: 10:30 a.m.

BBQ and community gathering

There will be a book launch for The History Of Dredging Collingwood Harbour and Shipyards: 1898-1945 by Greg McGroarty and Sandie Boone Goodchild. The book features the untold history of the C.S. Boone Dredging and Construction Company and includes photographs from the Collingwood Museum, Library and Archives Canada, and private family collections.

Extra parking will be available at the HarbourEdge Centre on the corner of Minnesota Street and Huron Street.
