The Georgian Bay Club Foundation celebrated an anniversary with some philanthropy.

This year was the 15th anniversary of the Georgian Bay Club Foundation Charity Golf Tournament, and it raised $87,600.

In total, the golf tournament has raised $435,000 over the last 15 years, all of which has been donated charities in the region including the Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation, Meaford Hospital Foundation, Hospice Georgian Triangle, Beaver Valley Outreach, Georgian Triangle Humane Society, Events for Life, Barbara Weidger House, and Meaford Culture Foundation.

This year, Georgian Bay Golf Club Foundation members went an extra mile by holding a Fund-a-Need Auction where they raised $111,600 for the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation Patient Room Renovation campaign. Larry Law, owner of Living Water Resorts, matched the first $100,000 of the auction proceeds and also donated it to the patient room renovation project.

“We are always thrilled to work with the volunteers and members of the Georgian Bay Club and their Foundation. Over the years, the tournament has raised over $850,000,” said Jory Pritchard-Kerr, CGMHF Executive Director in a press release from the hospital foundation. “With almost $200,000 raised this summer, the total giving from the Georgian Bay Club Foundation and their members has exceeded $1 million. We will be forever grateful for their ongoing support!"
