Clearview Township will submit a bid to purchase the Collingwood Regional Airport.

Clearview Township deputy clerk Brenda Falls confirmed council passed a resolution at its meeting May 7 to direct staff to submit a bid for the Collingwood Regional Airport, which is located in the boundaries of Clearview Township but owned by the town of Collingwood.

Council also voted to keep the bid conditions confidential.

Collingwood is in the process of selling the airport and working with a consultant to manage the sale process and purchase.

Earlier in the day May 7, the town of Collingwood sent out a news release to announce it was seeking offers to purchase or lease the airport lands “with options including an outright sale, public and/or private partnership, and long-term operational lease agreements.”

Collingwood council declared the airport lands surplus and decided to sell the lands at a meeting in September, 2017.

Collingwood will be accepting bid offers in line with its request for proposal until Friday, June 15 at 3:30 p.m.
