If you’d like to get creative with your climate action, a new art exhibit will be supporting efforts close to home.

A meet-the-artist reception for local artist Chris Marin will run out of the Press Room Gallery at the Simcoe Street Theatre on March 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. Her art is being sold for 60 per cent off, and 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to the Collingwood Climate Action Team to support their local efforts.

The exhibit will run from March 3 to 30 at the gallery.

"We are incredibly grateful to Chris Marin for this generous donation," said a representative from the Collingwood Climate Action Team in a press release. "This fundraiser not only supports our mission but also offers the community a chance to own stunning artwork while contributing to a more sustainable future."

The reception will feature light refreshments for attendees while they can peruse the art on display.

The Collingwood Climate Action Team (CCAT) was established in 2019 and is a local charitable organization with the mission of working with the local community to reduce the carbon footprint. The team has a seven-member board and consists of working groups focused on food and agriculture, energy, transportation, consumption and waste, community engagement and carbon conversations.

The group obtained charitable status in 2021.
