This week, the local climate action team is inviting businesses and organizations in Collingwood to learn more about a pilot project centred around the idea of a green economy.
The Collingwood Climate Action Team is hosting a free information session on Wednesday, Nov. 27, for a green economy hub pilot project lead by the climate action team in partnership with Green Economy Canada.
The pilot project invites businesses to join Green Economy Canada's network to get access to resources that will measure carbon footprints, set reduction targets, develop strategies and monitor progress over time.
"This free event will feature inspiring stories from local businesses that have joined the pilot project and are already taking steps to reduce their carbon pollution," states a news release from the Collingwood Climate Action Team. "Attendees will have the chance to engage directly with these trailblazers, ask questions, and network with other local business leaders committed to sustainability."
The session runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Collingwood Public Library community rooms B and C. Registration is free, but must be done in advance at this link.
"By greening your business, you can strengthen your brand, reduce costs, foster employee and customer engagement, and make a meaningful impact in your community," states the news release.
