NEWS RELEASE
COLLINGWOOD DOWNTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA
*************************
Preparations have begun for the Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market, returning this Saturday, May 20. Vendors have been busy planting, growing, baking and crafting to offer only the best for our 20th anniversary season.
At the market, you will find fresh picked in season produce, naturally raised meats, preserves, baked goods, handcrafted items, and representation from area wineries, distilleries, and craft breweries.
The Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market is a member of Farmers’ Markets Ontario and prides itself in adhering to the guidelines of the 100 mile market, featuring only produce grown within 100 miles of the market location, to promote buying local and eating healthy.
With the Market being owned and operated by the Collingwood Downtown BIA, it is also able to permit businesses within the Downtown boundaries to participate in the market. It’s a wonderful opportunity for retailers, food service and other businesses that are located downtown to promote their trade and allow visitors at the market to get a sample of the wonderful things our downtown has to offer.
Bring an appetite for “local” and join us today at the Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market, open every Saturday from now until Thanksgiving, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the municipal parking lot at the corner of Second and Pine Streets.
