Collingwood's town flag was hoisted in Clearview Township and Wasaga Beach today - the prize for a step challenge this summer between the three municipalities.

A competition between the three municipal councils began this summer to see who could log the most steps between Canada Day and Labour Day. A press release from Wasaga Beach stated the challenge was to promote healthy living while also having a little fun.

The prize: bragging rights and the flag of the winning municipality flying on the flag poles of the two other towns.

Collingwood won the competition logging 3,724.85 km, and today, Mayor Brian Saunderson travelled to Wasaga town hall and the Stayner emergency hub to supervise the raising of Collingwood's town flag. The flag will fly in those two locations for two weeks.

The Township of Clearview finished second in the challenge with 3,097.05 km and Wasaga finished last with 2,935.72 km.
