The Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGH) is asking for community input into a strategic plan that will guide the hospital's work in 2025 and beyond.

"The creation of this new plan is timely, with the construction of a new state-of-the-art hospital for South Georgian Bay projected to be completed within the next 10 years," states a news release from CGMH.

Hospital president and CEO, Michael Lacroix, said preparing to build a new hospital is a "big job."

"We need to plan carefully to ensure we continue to provide outstanding care in our aging building today, while laying the groundwork for new programs and services in our future hospital," stated Lacroix in the hospital's news release. "Our next strategic plan will act as our roadmap to the future, as CGMH begins to build tomorrow, today.”

The new strategic plan is being created through a collaborative process with guidance from CGMH’s Board of Directors, and input from hospital staff, physicians, volunteers, patients, partner hospitals, local government, and the community at-large.

An online survey for patients and community members is now open until July 31, 2024, through CGMH’s website. Printed copies of the survey are also available at the volunteer desk in the front lobby of the hospital.

CGMH anticipates the release of its new strategic plan in early 2025.
