Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is seeking talented and committed people to join its board of directors and various committees of the board.
Directors and committee members are volunteers and will reflect the diversity of our community while supporting the hospital’s vision of outstanding care – for life.
CGMH is a community hospital providing innovative health care to the residents and visitors of South Georgian Bay.
The board works collaboratively to oversee the strategic directions of the hospital, encourage innovation, support our dedicated employees, physicians and volunteers and build community and healthcare partnerships. We are excited to be on the brink of developing a new hospital for our fast-growing region.
"As we anticipate the development of a new hospital for South Georgian Bay, this is a fantastic time for community-minded individuals to join us," said Barry Goodwin, chair of the CGMH board. "Whether as a director or contributing your expertise in HR, risk management, or major construction projects on one of our committees, there are great opportunities to make a real, positive impact on our hospital’s future."
The current 11-member board of directors will soon have openings for new members, with the exact number of positions currently being determined. We seek individuals with the following types of skills, experience and expertise:
- Knowledge of our local communities and our rural context
- Experience with social media and strategic communications
- Knowledge from and experience within the legal sector
- Knowledge from and experience within the financial sector
- Accounting designation and experience with public sector finance
- Governance experience from previous volunteer activity
In addition to directors, we seek community representatives, referred to as community members, to join key board committees and task forces.
Community members are sought for our people and compensation committee which addresses key human resources issues.
Human resource leaders with experience in larger organizations would join the committee to provide strategic oversight as the hospital embarks on a strategic plan that will enhance the culture and development of the hospital’s teams, issues that are key to our success.
Our risk committee, which examines a broad range of risks facing the hospital, is seeking community members with risk backgrounds in various organizations, especially those with cybersecurity experience or exposure.
Our hospital development committee, which leads our work on the exciting project to develop our new hospital, seeks community members with complex procurement experience and experience with large-scale development and construction projects.
If you can help our hospital be the best it can be for our community, we want to hear from you.
