An event taking place in Collingwood later this month will take guests back to the chrome era.

The Century of Classics, a festival of classic and vintage cars, motorcycles and boats is coming to Collingwood’s historic main street and harbour on Saturday, Aug. 18.

“These vehicles are the icons of the 20th century,” said organizer Neil Campbell. “They are the pride and joy of their owners, lovingly restored and maintained. The engineering is breathtaking- they are beautiful examples of kinetic art.”

The show concludes with a performance by the legendary Canadian rock band, Lighthouse at the Eddie Bush Arena 6 pm.

Visitors can also take advantage of the many eclectic shops and restaurants in downtown Collingwood starting Saturday morning with the Farmer’s market, where fresh local produce and artisan products are sold.
