The Collingwood Museum is highlighting the history of the town's concrete grain elevator in September with three initiatives.

And speaking of three, there were actually three grain elevators built in Collingwood over the years. You can learn more about them on the museum podcast called Stories from Another Day.

The podcast is entering its fourth season with the grain elevator episode dropping Tuesday, Sept. 3 on all the podcast apps.

The second offering from the museum in September is a caption contest for a new museum T-shirt design featuring one of the earliest images of the now-iconic concrete silos. Captions can be submitted in-person at town hall or online at the Terminals Point page of the Engage Collingwood website. The deadline for submissions is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9.

The winner gets a free shirt featuring their slogan.

Third and finally, the Collingwood museum is launching an online collection of photos and objects connected to Collingwood's three grain terminals. The collection launches Sept. 15.

It will include more than 250 photographs, some from as early as 1855.

You'll be able to peruse the collection from anywhere using a computer or smartphone.

The launch date for the collection also marks the 95th anniversary of the first shipment of grain received by the Collingwood Terminals in 1929.
