A Collingwood-based consulting engineering firm is spreading the news after being named one of the nation’s top employers.
C.F. Crozier and Associates Inc. was named one of Canada’s top small and medium employers for 2023 by Mediacorp in the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition.
Nick Mocan, president of Crozier, said the firm was “incredibly honoured” to be on the list.
“As an employee-owned company, we are thankful to our dedicated teams across all offices for making Crozier a great place to work,” said Mocan in a news release.
Mediacorp Canada Inc. is the largest publisher of employment periodicals in the country, and the organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition. This is the tenth year the group has held the top small and medium employers' competition. Winners are chosen by editors at Mediacorp who are judging entries based on eight criteria including workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial, and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. Using definitions set by Statistics Canada, the competition limits a small and medium enterprise to a private-sector business with fewer than 500 employees.
Crozier offers a first-time home buyer’s assistance program to employees, providing up to $20,000 per employee to help fund a down payment to buy a home. The company also tops up parental leave, and has an employee shareholder program and a life-long learning assistance program offering up to $5,000 per year for continued education.
“As we continue to strategically grow our headcount and footprint, nurturing our employee experience will be key to our ongoing success,” said Mocan in the news release.
According to Mediacorp, small and medium-sized enterprise is responsible for about 90 per cent of the private-sector employment in Canada.
Crozier has recently announced plans for a custom-built head office in Collingwood and a Guelph office, which is the fifth location for the firm.
