Zack Prebble and Katie Pereira, backed by their families and the community of Collingwood, celebrated achieving their first goal in memory of their stillborn son Lincoln.
They raised funds and purchased a Cuddle Cot for the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, which means any families who face a stillbirth at the hospital will have more time with their child, moments Prebble and Periera didn't have.
The cot arrived at the hospital last week. It works by cooling the body of a stillborn baby to prevent further deterioration once outside the womb.
But Prebble and Periera and the community didn't stop there, on Wednesday night, April 3, they hosted a fundraising dinner at Boston Pizza in Collingwood where they raised another $2,045 in memory of Lincoln for a campaign called Links of Love. Links of Love has been working to help buy a cooling cot for Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, and will continue to work with hospitals in Ontario to make sure they have a cooling cot available for those facing still births.
