Crowds enjoy the downtown Christmas market in Collingwood on Friday evenings.

With the holiday season in full swing downtown Collingwood, so returns the outdoor Christmas market, a tradition for Fridays in December.

The market starts this week, Nov. 29 and continues each Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. until Dec. 20.

On Fridays, downtown stores will stay open later and some of the vendors from the Collingwood Farmers' Market will be back with Christmas offerings in their outdoor stalls.

There will be a licensed venue – the Holly Jolly Headquarters – set up at the parkette across from the town hall (84 Hurontario) featuring drinks by Low Down.

Enjoy the lights and selfie stations and decorations downtown while you shop, and enjoy some of the free entertainment like the Fleetwood Dancers performing scenes from The Nutcracker in storefront windows on Nov. 29 and Dec. 13.

There will also be free horse and wagon rides leaving from town hall.

Santa will be receiving visitors in his big red sleigh in front of the federal building by the Christmas tree.

Parking downtown is free after 6 p.m. and on weekends and holidays all year around. Parking is free for the holiday season starting Dec. 7.
