There was too much garbage to collect in Collingwood yesterday.
So much, in fact, it didn't all get collected.
A notice posted on the Simcoe County website states waste collection services couldn't pick up all the garbage left on curbs yesterday (March 4) despite crews working until 8 p.m. By then, crews reached the maximum allowable hours they're allowed to legally drive and had to head home.
Last week's blizzard on Monday caused Simcoe County to cancel waste collection, allowing Collingwood residents to double up this week to make up for the missed collection. Crews are out today collecting on the streets that were missed yesterday.
