Below are five area events among the many happening this weekend.

Shipyard Social

Join the Collingwood Museum for the eighth annual Shipyard Social on Sept. 7. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with the "Hardhats on Hurontario" march. At noon, a group photograph of former shipyard workers will be taken at the museum, followed by a community social from 12 to 3:30 p.m.

Collingwood Blues season opener

The Collingwood Blues will kick off their 2024/25 regular season on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena. They’ll play a second home game that weekend on Sept. 8 at 2:30 p.m.

1920s Afternoon High Tea Party

On Sept. 8, a private fundraiser will be held at the Collingwood Leisure Time Club from 1 to 4:45 p.m. as part of My Friend’s House’s Paint the Town Red major fundraising push.

Beaver Valley Fall Fair

The Beaver Valley Fall Fair runs Sept. 6 to 7 in Thornbury, and includes animals, a petting zoo, arts/crafts, exhibitors and food for the whole family.

The Guitar Trail

Musicians will perform along the trails of Blue Mountain Village on Sept. 7. The event will include headlining artists on the Subaru Stage.
