Below are five area events among the many happening this weekend:

Collingwood Blues Thanksgiving double header

The Collingwood Blues will be taking on the Georgetown Raiders on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. and the Milton Menace on Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena in a Thanksgiving weekend double header.

Thornbury Turkey Trot

Feathers will fly at the Thornbury Turkey Trot on Oct. 12 at the Beaver Valley Community Centre, put on by the Rotary Club of Thornbury Clarksburg. The day kicks off with the free Kid’s Run at 9 a.m., followed by the 9:30 a.m. five-kilometre run/walk and a half-marathon through the fall colours of the Beaver Valley. Proceeds of this event go to community school programs, and Rotary’s current capital project to revitalize Moreau Park.

Collingwood Farmers’ Market

It's the final farmers' market of the season on Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pine Street parking lot.

Apple Harvest Weekend

Apple Harvest Weekend runs at Blue Mountain Village from Oct. 12 to 14 and features live music, fall colours, hiking, local apples, AGORA: Path of Light and more.

Wasaga Beach Hootenanny

The Town of Wasaga Beach will host their annual fall festival Hootenanny on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wasaga Beach RecPlex.
