The latest COVID-19 outbreak at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is now over. 

The outbreak was announced on April 11, and declared over on April 20. Four patients in the medical unit tested positive for COVID-19 and were isolated. According to the hospital, there were no further patient or employee cases confirmed. 

During the outbreak, no visitors were allowed in the medical unit, except under end-of-life circumstances. The unit has now reopened for essential visitors, but the hospital's visitor policy currently allows for only one essential visitor per patient, except for children. This was the second COVID-19 outbreak at the hospital. The first was declared on March 4, and involved three patients and one employee in the surgical unit. The outbreak was declared over by the health unit on March 14.
