Editor's note: All of the charges against the accused were withdrawn.

A CFB Borden master corporal charged with sex assault made his first court appearance in Barrie today.

[The master corporal] was charged on Aug. 22 with two counts of sexual assault and one more count of assault.

The charges are in response to one alleged incident, which was reported last month to military police at CFB Borden, which is located about 20 minutes west of Barrie.

[The soldier] is a regular force member with Military Personnel Generation Training Group.

In court on Tuesday, the matter was adjourned until Oct. 16 to allow the Crown time to provide the defence with disclosure.
