At its June 2024 meeting, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay chose to support the Adaptive Riding program at Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre by donating approximately $11,670 to support its operations.

Hope Haven provides a special opportunity for individuals with disabilities or unique needs to explore their potential in an encouraging, safe and professional equestrian sport environment. Specially trained human and equine professionals as well as a dedicated community of volunteers use adaptive techniques, equipment and teaching methods to help their students try new experiences, push their physical boundaries and explore their potential.

The adaptive riding program is but one of a number of programs offered by Hope Haven. The certified instructors involved in the Adaptive Riding Program create individualized programs for their students, enabling them to ride weekly with a program tailored to provide a safe and positive experience for them based on their individual abilities and defined goals.  The program allows its students to achieve success, enhance confidence and support better physical wellbeing.  “We are pleased to support Hope Haven and, particularly, its Adaptive Riding Program.”  Bob Hughes, Leadership Team Member, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay.  “The team of horses, instructors and volunteers at Hope Haven provides a very special place for individuals in the Southern Georgian Bay community with disabilities and unique needs to build self-esteem, confidence and lifetime skills through equestrian sport, recreation and therapeutic programs.”

“We are so grateful for the support from the 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay.  The generosity from this group of caring men is so wonderful for our community especially for charities like Hope Haven.  These funds will go directly into supporting our Adaptive Riding program’.   Visit our website for more information www.hopehavencentre.org”. – Kim Reain, Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre.

About 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay

The Southern Georgian Bay area is one of the fastest growing areas in Canada and that growth brings with it increasing needs for support of local community causes and non-profit organizations. 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay seeks to provide some of that support by bringing together 100 or more men to each contribute $100 at each at its four yearly meetings to a local charity chosen by the Membership at each meeting.  A small donation by many gives 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay the opportunity to make a real impact to the local charities it supports.
