PHOTO GALLERY: Blue Mountain hosts Big Air show for March Break

To cap off the spring break, Blue will leave a lift running until midnight on March 20

Blue Mountain Resort welcomed back crowds for a live event featuring a 50-foot jump set up at the base of the Smart Alec run.

For the first time, the mountain welcomed audiences to an on-hill ski show, presented by Summer Water Sports, featuring Ontario Freestyle athletes plus a choreographed music and light show.

The Big Air Show took place on March 15 in the evening and was free to attend.

Later this week, to cap off March Break, Blue Mountain is leaving a lift running until midnight for an event dubbed "shred 'til bed." Anyone with a pass or a lift ticket for March 20 can ride the Silver Bullet chair lift until midnight.

The event is meant to raise awareness and financial support for Protect Our Winters, which is a non-profit organization of athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and industry brands that advocates for policy solutions to climate change with the idea of protecting the winter sports they love.

There is a Collingwood chapter of Protect Our Winters, and local representatives will be teaming up with Blue Mountain Resort for the Sunday night event.

Protect Our Winters will have information available on their mission and will be inviting people to donate and/or join the organization as a member.
