Collingwood council members and staff raised the Pride flag at the Collingwood Library today, marking the second time this summer an iteration of the rainbow flag has been hoisted to the top of the flag pole.

Today's private ceremony marked the ninth-annual Fierté Simcoe Pride, which runs July 27 to Aug. 9 with events across Simcoe County, most of which are virtual.

Collingwood also raised the Canadian Pride flag on June 12 with members of the Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay. The June flag-raising was to recognize Pride month.
