Wheelchairs, sledges, and other adaptive devices will be welcomed at a new Sunday afternoon public skating session in Collingwood.
Starting this weekend, the Children’s Treatment Network and the Town of Collingwood will be hosting Inclusive Sunday Skates.
All adaptive devices will be accepted for the Sunday sessions, which are open to the public.
There are some sledges also available for public use by request to arena staff.
The skating sessions run from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Central Park Arena. Attendants and/or helpers must wear ice skates or cleats on the ice. The first session takes place Jan. 12.
Canadian Safety Authority approved helmets are encouraged for all individuals on the ice.
