NEWS RELEASE
COLLINGWOOD DOWNTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA
*************************
During the fall season, as the cooler weather sets in and the autumn colours are at their best, downtown Collingwood celebrates Thanksgiving weekend as we enjoy the bounty of the harvest at our last farmers’ market of the season including the much-anticipated annual Art Chair Auction.
Join us Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market for your chance to purchase one of the much-coveted art chairs that we have enjoyed on the streets of Collingwood’s historic downtown throughout the summer. Silent auction bidding will begin at 10 a.m. and will close at 1 p.m. sharp. The chairs hold a minimum bid price of $75 and all chairs must be taken home and paid for (cash or cheque) at this time.
Proceeds from this year’s auction will be donated to Home Horizon and the Barbara Weider House towards their efforts to help youth at risk and facing homelessness in our community.
This year’s theme was “Colour!” as we invited artists to showcase the vibrant colours of our community. Once again these chairs have been the talk of the town all summer.
If you are looking for that one-of-a-kind, affordable piece of art that will add uniqueness to your yard or porch, then this auction is a must. Don’t miss out on the fun and your chance to take one (or more) of these chairs home with you.
