This weekend, the Ontario PC Party declared incumbent Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson will run again as the local PC candidate for the next provincial election.
Saunderson was acclaimed to the spot.
Formerly the deputy mayor, then mayor of Collingwood, Saunderson is currently serving his first term as MPP for Simcoe-Grey.
“Serving the people of Simcoe-Grey is an incredible honour, and I’m committed to continuing this important work,” said Saunderson in a news release announcing his candidacy. “From expanding Stevenson Memorial Hospital to delivering critical infrastructure upgrades, my focus remains on improving the quality of life for all residents. Together, we’re building a bright future for Simcoe-Grey.”
Ontario's next general election is tentatively scheduled for June 2026, but it could go earlier, depending on the current government.
