Expired licence plate leads to impaired driving charges

WASAGA BEACH - A traffic stop for an expired licence plate netted an impaired driver on Old Mosley Street in the Town of Wasaga Beach last night.

At approximately 11:39 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2024, an officer on patrol stopped a white SUV for having expired licence plates. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer observed open containers of liquor and immediately entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was ultimately arrested and brought back to the station for additional testing before being released.

Bradley Livingston, a 39-year-old male from Wasaga Beach, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - 80+
  • Possession of a controlled substance - sch. III
  • Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Drive motor vehicle with no currently validated permit
  • Fail to surrender permit
  • Fail to surrender insurance

The accused has been released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. Until then, he faces a 90-day drivers licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
