Man faces impaired driving charges after vehicle crashes into tree

A Singhampton man faces impaired-driving-related charges after crashing a truck into a tree, according to area OPP. 

Officers from the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police got a tip on Feb. 5 at midnight that a truck went off the road and crashed into a tree on Concession 2 Sunnidale in Clearview Township. 

At the scene, officers spoke to the driver and tested him for impairment. 

The 20-year-old from Singhampton was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – drugs and alcohol, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80. 

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
