Man on ebike charged with drunk driving in Wasaga Beach

Police officers stopped a 53-year-old Scarborough man on an ebike and charged him with 3 impaired-driving-related offences

Local police charged a man with three impaired-driving-related offences after stopping him on his e-bike in Wasaga Beach yesterday. 

Officers from the Huronia West OPP detachment stopped an e-bike and its driver on Main Street in Wasaga on Nov. 27 at 9 p.m.

According to a news release, officers stopped the e-bike driver to "confirm compliance of operation." 

"Officers noted an odour of alcohol on the driver and conducted an impaired driving investigation," stated the OPP news release. 

A 53-year-old man from Scarborough was arrested and charged with: 

  • Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
