One person was taken into custody as Huronia West OPP investigated a "potential threat" in Springwater Township, creating a heavy police presence Friday afternoon.
OPP officers from several units responded to the scene on Aug. 9 around 1:30 p.m. in the area of County Road 90 between County Road 56 and 9th Line, just west of Barrie.
Responding officers were from the local detachment, the emergency response team (ERT), the canine unit and the tactics and rescue unit.
"During the investigation, the area was contained and there was no threat to public safety," OPP stated in a news release.
One individual has been taken into custody. No other details were released.
The OPP says its resources were cleared from the scene by 4 p.m.
Police say more details will be released "if appropriate."
