COLLINGWOOD AND THE BLUE MOUNTAINS OPP

Officers from the Collingwood and the Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a collision on April 17 at approximately 8:30 p.m. where a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on Beachwood Road near Bellholme Lane in the Town of Collingwood.
Investigation found that a vehicle that was westbound on Beachwood Road struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway at the time of the collision. The female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital and later airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. The Technical Traffic Collision Investigators attended the scene, where the road was closed for several hours.
Investigation is continuing.
