Local police arrested a 37-year-old man following three thefts from a Thornbury grocery store in four days.
Ontario Provincial Police officers from the Collingwood and Blue Mountains detachment arrested the Grey County man on Jan. 18 just before 7 p.m. after noticing him in the grocery store and recognizing him as the suspect of a series of thefts from the same store.
"The suspect was responsible for the theft of hundreds of dollars of stolen property and was in the process of completing yet another theft before police took him into custody," states a news release from police.
After arresting the man, police found five outstanding warrants against him. He has been detained pending a bail hearing.
Police also charged the man, Matthew Springer, with three counts of theft under $5,000.
The same name appeared in an earlier police news release following arrests related to a rash of property crimes in Meaford.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
