Police catch drunk driver hauling trailer with no lights

A Grey Highlands man now faces impaired driving charges

Police laid drunk driving charges against a Grey Highlands man after pulling him over for hauling a trailer with no lights on. 

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers spotted the vehicle and trailer around 9:30 p.m. on May 31 on Grey Road 13. After pulling the vehicle over, officers spoke with the driver and decided a roadside breath test was needed. The driver failed the test and was taken to the police station for more testing. 

OPP charged a 27-year-old from Grey Highlands with 

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • No red light on rear of trailer

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 27, 2024.
