Police investigate shots fired in The Blue Mountains neighbourhood

COLLINGWOOD/THE BLUE MOUNTAINS OPP

Detectives from the crime unit of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the OPP Forensics Identification Services (FIS), are continuing their investigation into an incident where shots were fired in a residential area in The Blue Mountains.

The incident took place on August 24, 2020 shortly before 6:00 p.m. where OPP officers received reports of the sound of gunshots near the cul-de-sac on Lake Drive. Investigation at scene revealed evidence of shots being fired and that the suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 5'8" tall, with a thin build with a beard. He was wearing a blue shirt, tan coloured pants.

No one was injured in the incident and investigation is ongoing at this time.
