Several emergency vehicles with flashing lights raised attention last night on Hurontario Street, but police say there was no public threat.

"We responded to a person in crisis and de-escalated the situation for public safety," explained Const. Wesley Staddon, a media spokesperson for Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police.

Police and other emergency crews were called to Fourth Street East near Hurontario St. at about 9:30 p.m. last night (Dec. 18).

According to Staddon, there was no indication of a threat to the general public, and no further information about the incident will be shared for the protection and privacy of those involved.
