Theft of four kayaks launches police investigation

Area police are looking for information and kayaks following a reported break-in at a rural home in Grey Highlands. 

According to a news release from Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the break-and-enter took place between Sept. 5 at noon and Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. on a property on Road 140. 

Among the $8,000 worth of property stolen were four kayaks, a chain saw, a camp shower and a trailer. 

The detailed list sent by police in a news release is as follows:

  • 16-foot Wilderness systems kayak
  • 12-foot Delta twin haul sit on top kayak
  • 12-foot Swift Kevlar kayak
  • 10-foot lifetime plastic kayak
  • Stihl gas powered chainsaw
  • Cabella's on demand shower system 
  • 4x6' modified trailer with extended tongue, and welded on T-holder with license plate #R4391F
