Wasaga Beach man faces impaired driving charges

A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police resulted in the driver facing alcohol-related charges.

On June 9, 2020, at approximately 11 p.m., an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP was patrolling on Helen Street in Fenelon Falls when a vehicle was observed being operated in an aggressive manner.

The officer stopped the vehicle and the subsequent investigation led to the driver, a 20-year-old Wasaga Beach resident, being charged with the following offences:

  • Novice driver - B.A.C above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
