Area police have charged a 62-year-old Clearview woman with impaired-driving-related charges after discovering a vehicle in a ditch on Mighton Court.
According to a news release from the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers found the car in the ditch on Jan. 9 around 11:30 p.m. At that time, the car was abandoned.
"Officers were able to contact the driver who advised that she had driven into the ditch earlier on in the day and was planning to retrieve it," stated the news release.
Later, police found the woman attempting to remove the vehicle. Officers spoke with the woman, then conducted an impaired driving investigation.
The woman was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
The accused will face the charges in court later.
"Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws, and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighborhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions," states the police news release.
