The Craigleith Heritage Depot is getting some upgrades.
The Town of The Blue Mountains advised the public this week that construction work to improve the exterior of the depot building is underway. The work will improve safety and energy efficiency at the historic heritage building.
The project is partially being funded by the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. Work started on Nov. 7 and is expected to continue to the end of January 2023.
The work will include the removal and upgrading of all existing wood cladding and protective products, such as sheathing and vapour barrier to a new, more resilient exterior cladding solution. The work will also include the rehabilitation of cedar turret components and wood moulding around the windows.
The depot will remain open throughout the planned construction work. The town notes that residents in the immediate area may experience increased noise and debris onsite associated with normal construction activities.
All construction activities will take place from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
