Grey County will continue to use Principles Integrity as its integrity commissioner for the next five years.
At its meeting on Oct. 26, county council approved a resolution to appoint Principles Integrity to the integrity commissioner position for the next five years. County staff asked permission to sole source the integrity commissioner contract in order to continue the relationship that has been in place for the past five years.
“We’ve been happy with the services they have provided us,” said Clerk Tara Warder.
Principles Integrity will charge the county a $1,200 annual retainer fee. Its hourly rate for investigations, annual report preparation and providing advice is $275. The company charges 54 cents per kilometre for travel.
County staff also told council that over the five-year contract the company had cost approximately $8,000 - 9,000 in total. That amount did not include the costs of any training sessions Principles Integrity conducted for county personnel and elected officials.
