The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce, in collaboration with Grey Roots Museum and Archives, is inviting the public to come and commemorate cultural diversity, unity, and the vibrant spirit of community at Multicultural Day 2024.
The festivities will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grey Roots Museum and Archives just outside of Owen Sound.
Admission is open to all, with donations gratefully accepted. Wear your traditional cultural clothing and bring your own lawn chair and umbrella. Welcome and greetings will start at 11:30 a.m..
Activities that day include:
- Steel Pan Band & other musical guests
- Cultural Fusion Fashion Show
- Dance performances and cultural ceremonies
- Special Greek Community presentation: Alpha to Omega Video Launch Party
- Self-guided museum and village tours
- Hair braiding, henna tattoos, sidewalk chalk
- Kids games, activities, crafts and more!
Now in its third year, the YMCA’s Multicultural Day celebration continues to grow in popularity, drawing larger crowds and expanding its activities to include more diverse cultural representations each year.
Hosted in a different community annually, the event aims to encourage broader participation and foster a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity across Grey Bruce.
The event will embrace diversity, promote cultural appreciation and create lasting memories. It is an opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures that make our community shine together.
