MPP announces over $1 million in funding for Bruce/Grey groups

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers has announced more than $1 million in funding for a number of local agencies.

This week, the local MPP announced that the Ontario government is increasing support to community agencies so they can continue to deliver vital front-line services to individuals and families across the province.

 In total, organizations in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound will receive a total of $1,084,254. Agencies receiving the funds are:

•    Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living

•    Community Living Hanover and Area HARC Inc.

•    Community Living Meaford

•    Community Living Owen Sound & District

•    Grey Bruce Public Health

•    Participation Lodge Grey Bruce

•    Pine Hill Youth Residence

•    South-East Grey Support Services

•    Victim Services Bruce Grey Perth

•    Women’s Centre (Grey and Bruce) Inc.

•    YMCA Owen Sound Grey-Bruce

“This funding will help support our local agencies who provide front-line care to our community's most vulnerable," said Byers.

The news release from Byers stated that the government, through the 2024 budget, is providing $310 million over three years to address increasing operational costs for community organizations that support vulnerable populations. This includes children in care and those with special needs, people with a developmental disability, people who have experienced genderā€based violence and survivors of human trafficking.
