The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce Monica Quinlan as its new Director of Corporate and Financial Services, beginning September 3, 2024.
As Director, Monica will be responsible for all activities related to the Corporate and Financial Services Department, including financial planning, accounting, purchasing, risk management and information technology. Monica will also be responsible and accountable for all the duties of the Treasurer in accordance with the Municipal Act and Town policies.
Most recently, Monica was the Director of Finance / Treasurer for the Town of Collingwood, where she oversaw budget management, financial reporting and audit processes. Her experience spans more than two decades across roles in municipal government and the automotive industry.
“I am delighted to welcome Monica to The Blue Mountains, and I look forward to the positive impact she’ll bring,” says Chief Administrative Officer Shawn Everitt. “Her expertise and leadership will be invaluable in her role. Monica moved to the Georgian Bay area in 2010 with her husband and four children, embracing the community’s vibrant spirit and natural beauty. An active member of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation Board, she is deeply committed to giving back to her community and supporting local initiatives.
Monica holds a CPA, CMA designation and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and Labour Studies. Her skill set includes expertise in financial software, strategic planning and team development.
