Next week Collingwood transit riders will have to start paying fares again.
Town hall will also be reopening its front counter customer services starting Tuesday.
As of Monday, July 27, Colltrans and The Blue Mountains Link will be reinstating transit fare collection and front-door boarding for all riders.
Local transit will continue to operate on the Sunday schedule as it has been throughout the pandemic. The Blue Mountains Link will follow its normal schedule.
If you are riding transit, you’ll be required to wear a mask or face covering, as per the order from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
The town is also requiring masks be worn in the transit terminal on Pine and Second Street. Those who are feeling ill and/or experiencing symptoms of COVId-19 are asked not to take transit while they are sick.
There will be hand sanitizer available on the bus.
You can purchase a transit pass for August at Collingwood Public Library or at Town Hall.
Town hall will be opening its customer service desk starting Tuesday, July 28 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
There will be restrictions in place, including a limit on the number of people allowed in the building and asking the public to wear a mask or face-covering in the building.
“While masks or face coverings will be required, it is understood that special accommodations may be required for children, people with disabilities, or individuals with specific medical conditions,” notes the town’s press release.
The front desk will be open for general questions or support for town services, tax payments, purchasing transit passes, dog tags, licensing, parking ticket payments, and commissioner of oaths (by appointment).
The town release states staff are working on resuming marriage licensing in the coming weeks.
