14 new COVID-19 cases at schools in Simcoe County today

There are 14 new COVID-19 cases being reported in schools across Simcoe County today.

There are 58 total active COVID-19 cases being reported by local school boards at Simcoe County schools as of 4 p.m. on Nov. 17.

Emma King Public School in Barrie has one case and one affected classroom.

Forest Hill Public School in Midhurst has two cases and six affected classrooms.

Holly Meadows Elementary School in Barrie has one new case, and one affected classroom.

Orillia Secondary School reported two cases and no affected classrooms as of the evening of Nov. 16, however both cases were removed from the advisory board by 4 p.m. today.

Trillium Woods Elementary School in Barrie is reporting one new case, adding to one case and affected classroom previously reported.

West Bayfield Elementary School in Barrie is reporting two cases and two affected classrooms today.

As of Nov. 15, the Simcoe County District School Board has changed how it is reporting cases on its advisory board.

There are three schools that no longer have cases listed on the board. Instead, the school board notes that the health unit has taken over reporting cases at Terry Fox Elementary School, W.C. Little Elementary School and Maple Grove Public School, all in Barrie. As of Wednesday, the health unit is now reporting seven active cases at W.C. Little (one more than was listed on Tuesday). Five cases are being reported by the health unit at Maple Grove Public School (three more than were listed by the school board on Tuesday).

The health unit does not report on affected classrooms.

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one new case.

St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford is reporting one new case today, adding to three cases previously reported at the school.

The MonAvenir Catholic School Board is reporting today that one teacher has tested positive at École secondaire catholique Nouvelle-Alliance in Barrie.

The Simcoe County District School Board has 34 confirmed active cases at 13 schools according to their advisory board. They are:

  • Emma King Public School in Barrie has one case, one affected classroom
  • Forest Hill Public School has two cases, six affected classroom
  • Guthrie Public Schools in Oro-Medonte has one case, one affected classroom
  • Holly Meadows Elementary School has one case, and one affected classroom
  • Honourable Earl Rowe Public School in Bradford, one case
  • Innisfil Central Public School, one case, and one affected classroom
  • Maple Grove Public School in Barrie has five cases, with an unknown number of classrooms affected
  • Nottawa Elementary School in Nottawa, two cases and one affected classroom.
  • Terry Fox Elementary School, seven cases, with an unknown number of classrooms affected.
  • Trillium Woods Elementary School in Barrie, two cases and one affected classroom
  • W.C. Little Elementary School, seven cases, and an unknown number of classrooms affected
  • West Bayfield Elementary School in Barrie, two cases and two affected classrooms
  • Bear Creek Secondary School in Barrie is reporting two cases

According to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 14 active cases spread across six schools:

  • Monsignor Clair Catholic School in Barrie has two new cases, and two affected classrooms.
  • St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one new case
  • St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie is reporting two cases, and two affected classrooms
  • St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford has four cases, and two classrooms affected
  • St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie has four cases, with seven classrooms affected
  • St. Theresa's Catholic High School in Midland, one case, with two affected classrooms

The MonAvenir Catholic School Board has reported five students and one staff member who attend ÉÉC Samuel-de-Champlain in Orillia have tested positive for COVID-19 between Nov. 2 and 10. Two classrooms have been affected. At the same board, one teacher has tested positive at École secondaire catholique Nouvelle-Alliance in Barrie.

At the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, École secondaire Le Caron in Penetanguishene has one confirmed case as of Nov. 15.

  • Maple Grove Public School, Barrie, declared Nov. 16, five cases
  • St. Marie of the Incarnation, Bradford, declared Nov. 15, two cases
  • Monsignor Clair Elementary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 15, five cases
  • W.C. Little Elementary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 12, seven cases
  • Ferndale Woods Elementary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 12, two cases
  • Nottawa Elementary School, Clearview Township, declared Nov. 12, three cases
  • Terry Fox Elementary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 10, seven cases.
  • St. Bernadette Elementary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 9, two cases.
  • St. Peters Secondary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 8, six cases.
  • Unnamed private school in Simcoe County, declared Nov. 8, two cases.
  • ECC Samuel-de-Champlain public school, Orillia, declared Nov. 3, nine cases
  • St. Catherine of Siena Elementary School, Barrie, declared Nov. 1, 10 cases
