The town's newest park needs some public art, and the town is looking for an artist interested in taking on the task.

After opening the den Bok Family Park at 31 Plewes Drive this summer, the town has put a call out to artists interested in designing and fabricating an art piece that enhances the park.

Named after a Dutch family that immigrated to Collingwod from Holland in the late 1940s and has since grown deep roots in the community, the park is a nod to Collingwood's farming history. The den Bok's originally worked for Smart's Farms and later had their own farm.

"We invite artists to submit proposals inspired by the themes of farming, harvest, and the joy of outdoor experiences throughout the seasons. The artwork should reflect creativity while honoring the site’s connection to the land," states a news release from the town.

Submissions for the project are due Nov. 18 at 5 p.m.

All entries should be sent to [email protected]. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Additional details, including application requirements are available on the public art page of the town website.
