Blue Mountain Village is entering Christmas mode this weekend with the arrival of Santa Claus and more.
The big man in red arrives Nov. 18 by horse and carriage for the official holiday season kick-off including street performers, a Christmas cabaret, holiday sing-a-long, and DJ.
New this year is the Snow Dome Cocktail Garden open Saturday nights.
The Holiday Light Trail returns, featuring more than a million lights on a one-kilometre trail set up with interactive light displays. There will also be fires to sit by and get warm throughout the Village square.
"This is not just Santa's arrival; it's a celebration that captures the essence of the holiday season," said Patti Kendall, director of marketing and events at Blue Mountain Village in a news release. "We've curated an experience that combines tradition with excitement, providing a joyful kick-off for families and friends as we dive into the festivities of the season."
Music entertainment includes a cabaret, Reggae Christmas, Sonshine and Broccoli, and classical quartet performances. There's also plans for reindeer visits in the Village.
Village shops and boutiques are open for local shopping Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., even on Christmas day.
