The town is making a big splash to officially reopen its pool this week.

Centennial Aquatic Centre was closed this summer for work to install a tile base along the bottom and sides of the pool. The pool opened this week and the town is planning a public ribbon cutting and grand reopening of the pool on Saturday.

The town received $394,000 from the Community Building Fund grant from the government of Ontario and the Ontario Trillium Foundation to tile the pool.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, town staff and council will be cutting the ribbon to officially reopen it at 4:15 p.m. There will be lane swims for an hour at 4:30 p.m., leisure swim from 5:40 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and a "dive-in" movie screening of Finding Dory at 7 p.m. Pre-registration (online here) is required for the movie.

There will be music in the aquatic centre lobby from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
